Belotero

There is another addition to the ever expanding family of injectibles.  The much welcomed Belotero Balance is now available, at the Dermatology and Liposculpture Center in Delray Beach, FL.  It represents a new generation of dermal fillers. Belotero is similar to other fillers, in that it is a hyaluronic acid filler, a substance that’s naturally found in the skin.  Adding volume to the face with Belotero and minimizing lines and wrinkles, it promises to rejuvenate the face.

What sets it apart from other HA fillers is that unlike the older hyaluronic acid fillers, Belotero Balance appears to add volume without the risk of lumps and bumps under the skin.  Belotero has a very soft consistency which integrates extremely well with existing skin tissue. In addition, Belotero Balance doesn’t seem to cause the under-the-skin "blue tinting" that may occurs with other fillers when they are placed too superficial in a wrinkle or fold, such as those around the eyes.

Belotero Balance has been safely and effectively used in Europe and elsewhere around the world for several years. It received the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval for the treatment of moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds in November 2011.

Where can Belotero be used?

• Periorbital lines ("crow’s feet") around the eyes
• Perioral lines ("smoker's lines") around the mouth and lips
• Vertical glabellar ("frown") lines on the forehead
• Nasolabial folds ("laugh lines"), which run from the nose to the corners of the mouth
• "Marionette" lines, which run from the mouth to the jaw
• Lips
• Acne scars
• Hands
