As we age, our skin changes. Over time, the natural volume of youthful skin begins to diminish as wrinkles and folds form. But, with Juvéderm® injectable gel, you don't have to just sit back and let it happen!
Juvéderm is a "next-generation" dermal filler gel with a very smooth consistency made of hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. Dr. Balshi eases Juvéderm® injectable gel under the skin to instantly restore your skin's volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, like your “smile lines” or “parentheses” (nasolabial folds—the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth).
Juvéderm provides a smooth, natural look and feel—so everyone will notice (but no one will know)! In fact, studies show superior results of Juvéderm compared to a collagen-based dermal filler.
Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers like Juvéderm™ offer a safe and effective non-surgical option for the immediate smoothing of facial wrinkles and folds. In fact, “fillers” are the fastest growing non-surgical cosmetic procedure in the United States.
Juvéderm requires no allergy skin test prior to receiving treatment.
Juvéderm is made using a unique manufacturing process that results in the highest concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid of any currently available hyaluronic acid dermal filler. This cross-linking equates to long-lasting results.
Juvéderm's advanced manufacturing process also creates a smooth consistency gel that fills the skin easily and provides a smooth, natural look and feel.
Juvéderm may be used in a wide range of applications including: Smile Lines, Marionette Lines, and other lines and wrinkles on the face. It is also commonly used by Dr. Balshi to provide definition and fullness to the lips.
Juvéderm injectable gel is a “next-generation” hyaluronic acid dermal filler that provides volume and is used to treat wrinkles and folds resulting from a loss of volume beneath the surface of the skin such as perioral lines and nasolabial folds (lines around your mouth and nose). Juvéderm® restores your skin's volume for a smooth, natural look and feel. BOTOX® Cosmetic is not a filler. BOTOX® Cosmetic relaxes muscle activity and is used to treat moderate to severe lines caused by the dominant frown muscles between the eyebrows (the glabellar area). This allows the two vertical lines between the brows, often referred to as the “11,” to temporarily diminish for a smoother appearance. For important safety information about BOTOX® Cosmetic, see below.

Yes. Juvéderm™ has been used safely by dermatologists, nurse practitioners and plastic surgeons worldwide. Because Juvéderm™ is non-animal-based and fully biocompatible, allergy testing is not required. This quality virtually eliminates any risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction. The most commonly reported side effects are temporary redness and swelling at the injection site. These effects typically resolve within two to three days.
Juvéderm™ injectable gel is injected under the skin to provide a smooth, natural look and feel-so everyone will notice (but no one will know)! After the injection, your Dr. Balshi may gently massage your skin to optimize contouring. Juvéderm™ is a simple and convenient procedure and results are practically instantaneous.
The injection process takes only about 15 minutes. You'll also need to allow time to consult with your doctor prior to treatment.
Juvéderm is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts using a small needle, resulting in minimal discomfort. To optimize your comfort during the short procedure, Dr. Balshi may anesthetize the treatment area to completely eliminate any procedural pain.
Patients should avoid taking aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John's Wort and high doses of Vitamin E supplements for one week prior to treatment. This will help to minimize any bruising or bleeding at the injection site. If patients have a history of herpes or cold sores, they will need to be treated with an anti-viral medication before and after Juvéderm™.
Most side effects are mild or moderate in nature, and their duration is short lasting (7 days or less). The most common side effects include, but are not limited to, temporary injections site reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. As with all skin injection procedures there is a risk of infection.
Yes. In fact, Juvéderm® injectable gel is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has proven its safety and effectiveness in persons of color. Studies with Juvéderm® showed no increased risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophic scarring in patients of color.
Normally, patients return to work, school or their usual routine, almost immediately following the procedure. Cold compresses may help reduce swelling and bruising. Make-up may be worn immediately after treatment.
